The Walnut Street Ragtime Ramblers The Walnut Street Ragtime Ramblers have
performed to great acclaim at the Great American Brass Band Festival in
Danville, Kentucky, the Paramount Theatre, the Ashland Park July Fourth
Celebration, and at many other locations in Kentucky. In 2011 and again in 2012,
the Ramblers toured Spain, performing featured concerts in the Fundacion Botín
Auditorium, Santander, the Costa Brava Nights of Jazz Concerts, and the Bilbao
Gran Semana City Festival, among others.
Ramblers’ members have appeared with such noted artists as Bob Hope, Rosemary
Clooney, Red Skelton, Wynonna Judd, Patrick Swayze, Aretha Franklin, Natalie
Cole, Lou Rawls, the Temptations, Johnny Mathis, Perry Como, Doc Severinsen, Mel
Torme, Ben Vereen, and Max Morath.
Members have also performed with ensembles such as the Lexington Brass Band, the
DiMartino-Osland Jazz Orchestra, the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra, the Manhattan Transfer, the Glen Miller
Orchestra, and toured with productions of the musicals “Forty-Second Street” and
“The Producers.” Though all are accomplished performers in the concert and jazz
areas, t hey have a special love for early jazz and ragtime music.
The Walnut Street Ragtime Ramblers provide an atmosphere of fun, Americana, and
musical excitement. The Ramblers are available for parties, festivals, concerts,
publicity events, and civic gatherings outdoors and indoors, big and small. |
